In 2020, the US Congress enhanced and expanded the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline by introducing the 988 dialing code, which offers immediate, compassionate support to individuals in emotional or mental health crises. Mental Health America of Greenville County collaborated with Word of Web to develop the 988 website for South Carolina. The website's main objective is to facilitate easy access for people to call, text, or chat via 988, ensuring they receive timely support. The secondary aim is to inform the public about this vital resource, increase awareness, and promote donations. We kicked off the project by establishing style and messaging guidelines aligned with national 988 branding standards, while also considering specific audience goals for South Carolina. After crafting the website content, we built and launched the site using WordPress, ensuring compliance with ADA standards and incorporating a translator widget to enhance accessibility for everyone.

Art at the AC Hotel Web Design and Development

If you've ever been to Greenville, South Carolina, you may have noticed the beautiful new hotel located in downtown – the AC Hotel by Marriott. After the hotel opened, its management team reached out to Word of Web to create a website showcasing the local artists whose work is displayed throughout the hotel. Together, we designed and developed a 50-page WordPress site that featured each artist's biography and their showcased works. Nowadays, when you visit the hotel, you'll find a QR code next to each artwork – scanning it will lead you to the corresponding artist's page on the website. Effective project management was crucial for this endeavor, as we needed to coordinate the gathering of names, bios, headshots, and images from 40 different artists. Additionally, we aimed to create a visually appealing design for the site that complemented, rather than overshadowed, the artists and their work.

Payfluence Web Design, Writing, and Branding

Payfluence

Payfluence is a human capital management (HCM) software firm dedicated to facilitating smooth operations for employers and employees across various sectors. Shortly after its launch, the team recognized the necessity of a marketing website to enhance brand visibility, inform audiences about Payfluence's value, and generate leads. They partnered with Word of Web for assistance. We began by investigating Payfluence's unique selling points, competitors, and business/audience objectives to formulate an effective website strategy. Our team collaborated with them to design a logo, choose brand colors and fonts, and create a messaging framework. After crafting the website copy, we designed and built the site using WordPress. Given that Payfluence was a new entity, establishing its brand positioning was crucial—defining its "personality" and how it should be perceived publicly. We aimed to portray Payfluence as a professional yet approachable brand that genuinely values customer relationships. All creative choices made during the project reflected this vision. We even arranged a fun photoshoot that included a dog and a game of cornhole to showcase the team's vibrant, playful spirit.
