MPP - Annual Report 2020 - print & digital
In 2020, the Medicines Patent Pool marked its 10th anniversary, celebrating a decade of efforts to improve medicine accessibility in low- and middle-income countries. As is customary for organizations like this, it was time to produce the annual activity report, but this particular edition required special attention due to its milestone nature. The proposed theme was “A decade of making medicines accessible – 18 billion doses of treatment in 10 years,” and our task was to weave this theme into a report that was both celebratory and informative. The number ten became a recurring symbol throughout the report, and the circle that derived from it took on various meanings. It served as a connection linking all nations and individuals, mirrored the roundness of our planet, and evoked the image of a hug, which also forms a circle. The MPP's efforts are global, fostering collaboration among civil society, governments, and international organizations. Rather than merely stating these principles, the report illustrated them with a diverse array of photographs featuring genuine individuals of different ages and cultural backgrounds. This visual approach ensured that even if readers overlooked the initial description, they would still grasp the essence of the report by merely browsing through it.
