Building a new digital bank from the beginning

Jenius Bank

SMBC Group is a leading global financial institution, and one of its subsidiaries, SMBC MANUBANK, collaborated with Method to establish its new digital banking branch in the U.S., known as Jenius Bank™. The goal of Jenius Bank is to provide a distinctive experience shaped by direct feedback from customers regarding aspects such as product features and design. Method joined the project during the bank's initial development phase to help formulate its product and experience design strategy. We continued our partnership, enhancing our team to effectively connect vision with implementation as they developed their brand from scratch.

A Game-Changing Golf Launch Monitor Experience

Full Swing

Commissioned by one of the greatest professional golfers of all time to create a launch monitor that could be relied on for every shot, Full Swing embarked on the development of the Full Swing KIT—a revolutionary hardware solution accompanied by an iOS mobile app for both professionals and amateurs. To assist them in formulating the mobile product strategy and app architecture, Full Swing partnered with Method. During the initial phases of UX research and design, our team conducted observations and interviews with golfers and their coaches to identify key features users desire in a launch monitor experience. This research revealed a comprehensive list of potential features. Method then crafted a scalable architecture for iOS mobile and tablet applications that would easily integrate with Full Swing's proprietary launch monitor hardware, as well as the Apple Watch and wireless headphones. As a result, golfers can view their swing metrics in the app and hear them announced through wireless headphones, allowing each golfer to personalize their training sessions and enhance their performance.

Since its founding in 1978, Ben & Jerry’s has balanced business and social responsibility by merging their products with a social mission. After their last redesign in 2012, they recognized the need for a fresh digital presence that reflected their current identity. They sought a website that could showcase their updated values and excite customers about their delicious new offerings. Method collaborated with Ben & Jerry’s to completely transform their information architecture and content strategy, and to develop a scalable design system that prioritized a mobile-first experience throughout the customer journey. This effort resulted in a contemporary interpretation of a beloved brand that is equally committed to its values and to creating iconic ice creams and treats.
