How Sweet Harvest Foods Scaled IT Fast

Sweet Harvest Foods

**Industry:** Food manufacturing and distribution **Company Size:** Multi-location (MN, CA, MI) **Services Deployed:** Managed IT, Support Desk, Backup as a Service (BaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Cisco Meraki networking When Sweet Harvest Foods was acquired, its IT department consisted of just one person. Almost instantly, the company’s size more than doubled with the addition of two new locations nationwide, multiple domains, and a need for a unified infrastructure. Thankfully, IT Director Brian Pleschourt had started collaborating with Marco six months prior, anticipating growth and seeking assistance for complex issues beyond his expertise. The merger expedited progress. Marco's Consulting Systems Engineer implemented a comprehensive standardization of the infrastructure across all four locations, introducing new hardware, firewalls, switches, and servers, all centered on Cisco Meraki, complete with redundant internet connections and failover capabilities at each site. Backup as a Service and private cloud infrastructure were integrated to eliminate single points of failure. Marco also assumed complete responsibility for the Support Desk, providing remote support for all four locations, allowing Pleschourt to concentrate on IT strategy rather than dealing with tier-one tickets. The end result was a fully standardized and resilient infrastructure capable of scaling with the business. Domain consolidation is now in progress as the next step in the collaboration.

Freeing Up IT to Focus on What Matters

GP Companies

Client: GP Companies Industry: Manufacturing/Industrial Distribution Company Size: 70 employees, single location (Mendota Heights, MN) Services Provided: Managed IT, Support Desk, on-site networking assistance As GP Companies expanded, the demands on their network and infrastructure exceeded what a single internal IT employee could manage. Finding someone with the necessary expertise was challenging, especially after a partial business sale made it hard to justify a full-time in-house help desk position. The company required more extensive support and a wider skill set. IT Manager Joe Igo explored managed IT solutions from various providers and ultimately selected Marco, partly due to their prior familiarity with GP Companies' network. Collaborating with his Marco Technology Advisor, Igo identified the appropriate level of support for their 70 users, which included unlimited access to the Support Desk during weekdays and a dedicated on-site technician every two weeks for network maintenance, desktop setups, and infrastructure management. The impact was immediate: users could reach Marco's Support Desk directly, allowing Igo to concentrate on project-related tasks and broader business goals. Response times improved significantly, and monthly reports provided insights into call volume and network performance. An annual review ensured GP Companies stayed updated on infrastructure developments and new technologies. According to Igo, the ultimate measure of success is that no user feedback indicates that everything is functioning smoothly.
