Established in 2000, makelike is a diverse graphic design collective led by artists and designers Mary Kysar and Topher Sinkinson. Located in Portland, Oregon, we also have a small studio in New Orleans, Louisiana. Our design philosophy centers on producing work that is distinctive, elegant, and desirable, often incorporating at least one pattern. In 2009, we launched our product line, concentrating on specialty wallpaper and textiles.

OUR STORY
Inspired by a 2008 Nike Tokyo project, Makelike discovered the art of handmade wall coverings through screen printing on mylar paper. This experience sparked a passion to design unique wallpapers, initially featuring cacti and succulents, then expanding to themes like surrounding forests. Based in Portland, Oregon, their wallpapers reflect a love of nature, travel, and creativity. Each piece is hand-silkscreened using eco-friendly pigments on sustainably sourced, clay-coated paper. They offer diverse printing options with careful attention to quality, color accuracy, and professional installation. Supporting architects, interior designers, and stockists, Makelike ensures customers receive personalized guidance and premium wall coverings that transform spaces into cherished environments.
