1spatial Ministry of Defence UX/UI design

The Challenge: The existing application was created by 1Spatial around 25 years ago. Over time, new versions have been released to enhance functionality within the original design framework. However, as time passed, it became evident that a reevaluation of the application’s goals, its underlying technology, as well as the organization and presentation of its information was necessary to ensure users can utilize the application as efficiently and effectively as possible in their roles. Our project coincided with a broader system change initiative at the Ministry of Defence (MoD). Various teams at the MoD employ multiple products sequentially to accomplish distinct tasks that lead to an overall output. Each product is supported by different vendors, with 1Spatial’s application being one among several in a collaborative framework. Consequently, our influence was limited to enhancing the UX/UI of our specific application without impacting adjacent products that contribute to the overall user experience and information flow. Make It Clear aimed to create a modern interface consistent with UX/UI best practices and establish foundational design systems to guide future development of the application. Our Approach: Building on 1Spatial’s initial UX research, we engaged with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and MoD users to gain a comprehensive understanding of target personas, including their expectations, needs, and challenges. We were fortunate enough to visit users in their work environments, which allowed us to gain valuable insights into their task flow and the contextual use of the application. Award-Winning Design: Spamhaus Reputation Portal

Spamhaus Technology

Make it Clear has collaborated with Spamhaus since 2019, and in the third quarter of 2021, their team reached out to us to design the UX/UI for a new feature they were launching: a 'Reputation Portal.' This portal would be a complimentary resource for IP and domain owners. Our solution needed to capture complex technical security data related to networks and domains and present it in a user-friendly format. As there were no existing tools on the market that offered a similar service, we lacked competitors or comparable platforms for reference. Therefore, we had to develop all aspects of the user journey and data visualization from the ground up. The final product aimed to cater to both large organizations and smaller domain owners, with particular emphasis on the former, who needed to visualize thousands of data points. Our team's challenge was to design a flexible interface that could handle large volumes of dynamic information while maintaining accessibility and clarity. Additionally, the UI needed to accommodate a diverse user base with varying levels of expertise while adhering to Spamhaus’s brand guidelines. To achieve this, we developed a range of icons, infographics, and data presentation methods that would be comprehensible to a broad audience, including major organizations like Amazon with advanced digital security teams, as well as smaller enterprises relatively new to IP information security. Our objective was to provide sufficient data to help users address the most critical threats, while minimizing confusion by filtering out unnecessary information. We designed a dashboard that highlighted the most pertinent information, enabling users to take immediate action while managing less urgent threats later. Agilisys Cloud managed service sales support

Agilisys

The challenge: Organizations often find themselves at various stages of digital transformation. Agilisys aimed to reach those eager to enhance their cloud managed services. After achieving success with large, consultative tenders, they sought to simplify and scale their offerings to better empower their sales team. Our approach: We started by developing customer personas and journey maps to aid the sales process. These materials were based on desk research, customer interviews, competitor assessments, and workshops with internal teams. We then designed a comprehensive messaging framework for the campaign, influenced by the personas and journey maps. This framework included sample messages that addressed known pain points alongside the benefits provided by Agilisys. The sales and marketing teams at Agilisys utilized the personas, journey maps, and messaging framework to create campaigns and materials that aligned with their existing brand guidelines. Business Impact: As of June 2021, Agilisys is currently testing their revised sales and marketing process. We look forward to reconnecting with the team to review the outcomes and discuss ways to enhance the approach.
