AI Credit Risk and Decisioning Platform

Unknown

**Business Challenge** The client, a large universal bank, faced difficulties with its outdated credit decision-making system. Traditional statistical scorecards were inflexible and could not adjust to changes in the economy or emerging fraud trends. This technical debt resulted in long decision-making times, less accurate assessments of borrowers, and considerable regulatory risks due to insufficient model transparency. **AI/Data Solution Delivered** MADIFF stepped in as the strategic AI partner to develop a comprehensive, production-ready credit decisioning platform. We transformed the entire machine learning lifecycle through: - **Advanced Feature Engineering:** We combined transactional data with third-party bureau information to create detailed borrower profiles. - **Hybrid Modeling:** We utilized ensembles of gradient boosting and neural networks to enhance prediction consistency. - **Explainable AI (XAI):** We incorporated SHAP-based feature attribution to ensure complete transparency for each automated decision. - **Scalable Infrastructure:** The solution was implemented as containerized microservices on Kubernetes to facilitate smooth integration with core banking systems. **Technologies Used** - **ML/AI:** Python, XGBoost, TensorFlow, SHAP - **Data/Ops:** Apache Airflow, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines **Team Size & Duration** - **Team:** 8 specialists (including Data Scientists, MLOps Engineers, and Backend Developers) - **Duration:** 10 months **Measurable Business Impact** - 22% increase in accuracy of default predictions - 18% decrease in false-positive rejections, leading to a rise in loan volume - 99.9% improvement in processing time (reduced from minutes to under 100ms) - Achieved 100% audit readiness through automated regulatory explainability

AI Clinical Decision Support

Unknown

**Client Industry:** HealthTech / Clinical Systems **Business Challenge:** A digital health provider in Europe faced issues with fragmented patient data scattered across electronic health record (EHR) systems, clinical notes, and diagnostic imaging platforms. This disarray resulted in clinicians not having access to real-time insights, leading to delays in diagnoses, inconsistent treatment choices, and an increased workload for manual analyses in hospitals and outpatient clinics. **AI/Data Solution Delivered:** Madiff created an AI-driven clinical decision support platform that integrates machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), and computer vision technologies. This platform merged structured EHR data with unstructured clinical notes, which were analyzed using transformer-based NLP models. Additionally, the workflows for diagnostic imaging were improved through CNN-based models designed to detect health risks earlier. Continuous feedback loops allowed for the ongoing retraining of models using outcomes validated by clinicians. The solution was seamlessly integrated into current clinical workflows by employing FHIR and HL7 interoperability standards. **Technologies Used:** Python, PyTorch, Transformer NLP Models, CNNs, FHIR, HL7, AWS SageMaker, Elasticsearch **Team Size & Duration:** 7 AI/Data engineers over a period of 10 months **Business Impact:** - Enhanced diagnostic accuracy by 17% - Cut the time needed for clinical insights by over 40% - Improved consistency of treatment across various clinics - Automated the analysis of thousands of patient records and clinical notes - Speeded up clinician decision-making with real-time AI-assisted recommendations - Achieved high clinician engagement thanks to the transparency and explainability of AI results.

Real Time AI Fraud Detection Platform

Unknown

**Client Industry:** FinTech / Digital Payments **Business Challenge:** A global payments firm, handling millions of transactions every day, faced difficulties due to its outdated rule-based fraud detection systems. These systems not only produced an excessive number of false positives but also struggled to keep pace with changing fraud tactics. This led to increased operational costs, delayed responses to fraud, and a negative impact on customer experience due to unwarranted transaction blocks. **AI/Data Solution Delivered:** Madiff created a scalable, AI-driven fraud detection platform utilizing streaming analytics and a combination of hybrid machine learning models. The solution integrated unsupervised learning to establish behavioral transaction baselines with supervised models that were trained to identify known fraud patterns. Its online learning capability allowed for real-time adaptation to new fraud strategies. The platform achieved sub-second transaction scoring and equipped fraud operations teams with centralized dashboards for monitoring and risk assessment. **Technologies Used:** Python, Kafka, Spark Streaming, Autoencoders, Random Forest, Docker, Prometheus, Grafana **Team Size & Duration:** 6 AI/Data engineers, 8 months **Business Impact:** - Improved fraud detection accuracy by 30% - Decreased false positives by 25% - Enabled sub-second transaction scoring at an enterprise level - Enhanced customer experience by reducing the number of legitimate transactions being blocked - Automated real-time analysis of millions of daily payment events - Lessened the manual fraud investigation workload for the operations team.
