Revolutionizing grill-shopping through innovative design and highly effective user experience. ----- The Request Char-Broil aimed to provide shoppers with an engaging virtual showroom. As a family-owned producer of charcoal, gas, and electric grills, smokers, and accessories based in Columbus, Ga., Char-Broil has been assisting grilling enthusiasts of all levels with backyard gatherings since 1948. ----- The Solution We transformed a basic product website into an award-winning destination for grilling enthusiasts. Meeting Their Needs Char-Broil approached us to enhance their omni-channel retail presence. They sought a new platform that would serve both buyers and casual browsers, acting as a resource to bridge gaps in their retail partners’ grill-shopping experiences, whether online or offline. We conducted research and designed the project entirely from the perspective of grillmasters, anticipating their requirements by creating tools that linked lifestyle and cooking preferences with appropriate Char-Broil products. Additionally, we optimized the site for mobile devices to ensure a consistent shopping experience across all platforms. The final website garnered 11 design awards and made the client immensely proud. ----- Honors Recipient of 11 major industry awards, including several notable mentions.
