UC Santa Barbara possessed a significant scientific tool known as Bisque, which was utilized by researchers globally to analyze biological images, develop AI models, and exchange findings among institutions. However, the software had not received adequate updates for years, functioning like a contemporary application on a two-decade-old computer—slow, unstable, and close to failure. If it were to collapse, it would halt years of essential research. Kyro Solutions intervened to carefully redesign the system without interrupting the daily work of its users. We modernized the software’s core engine, replaced all outdated components impeding its performance, and restructured vital system elements to enhance speed and usability. Additionally, we upgraded the old account creation process to a modern, self-service login system. As a result, the platform transformed from being nearly obsolete to fully equipped for the future, facilitating crucial scientific advancements worldwide.

Each visual was carefully designed to clarify, energize, and make complex ideas memorable.
