Murphy AI - Building a team from Scratch

We first connected with Marc and Borja when Murphy was a small team of just three, still under the radar. They required rapid scaling to establish their AI-driven debt collection platform and maintain a swift pace of operation. The challenge was substantial, featuring a demanding culture, well-defined principles, a three-day in-office work schedule, and an exceptionally high technical standard. Nonetheless, within the initial months of our partnership, we recruited key roles including full-stack, backend, and AI engineers, along with a QA specialist, among others. We helped them grow from their first hires to a team of over 20 members in less than a year, always prioritizing cultural fit. This early momentum was crucial for accelerating Murphy's product development, leading to a $15M funding round that included contributions from ElevenLabs and renowned international and local investors like Northzone, Enzo Ventures, Lakestar, and Seedcamp. We continue to support them today in expanding their technical team.

Infonet - Two tough on-site incorporations

Infonet turned to Kulturo after several months of unsuccessfully looking for candidates. The company, which operates at the crossroads of fintech and legaltech and targets the French market, offers a SaaS platform that provides access to companies' legal and financial data. They were in search of a Senior Backend developer with expertise in PHP Symfony but faced challenges finding the right candidate. The primary issue was not technical but structural; they highly prioritize in-office collaboration and follow a four-day in-office work model, which tends to dissuade a significant portion of the tech workforce. At Kulturo, we do not attempt to persuade candidates to alter their preferences; instead, we concentrate on discovering individuals who are genuinely compatible. Surprisingly, there are still professionals who appreciate working in an office environment. Our first step was to effectively communicate Infonet's value proposition, which included beautifully designed workspaces, engaging projects with real challenges, competitive salaries, generous vacation time, and a highly rewarding professional atmosphere, without any pretense. With this clear narrative, we initiated two recruitment campaigns, one in January 2024 and another post-summer. The outcome was the hiring of two senior profiles, one in March and another in October. Both have settled in well, are pleased with their decisions, and are even enjoying barbecues on the terrace of their outstanding offices.

EvCharge - Building a full remote team

EVcharge is a software platform that streamlines the management of electric vehicle charging stations and can be tailored to fit various business models. It is a subsidiary of Etecnic, a prominent provider of electric mobility solutions in Spain. During our initial conversation, they mentioned that they had collaborated with a recruiter who lacked expertise in technical fields, resulting in difficulties in finding the right professionals. Moreover, their headquarters in Reus posed challenges in hiring senior profiles in the local area. In light of this, we developed a remote-first recruitment strategy, focusing on candidates willing to attend team-building events where they could meet in person several times a year. This approach proved effective, leading to the successful recruitment of three professionals: a Full Stack engineer skilled in Ruby on Rails, a Frontend engineer proficient in React.js, and a DevOps engineer experienced with AWS. Additionally, a year later, with new clients acquired, the team needed to expand further, resulting in two more hires. To date, we have introduced 35 candidates to EVcharge, leading to five successful placements.
