The Outcome We digitized the sign-ordering process for the largest sign manufacturer in the U.S. The final solution provides both internal and customer-facing options that simplify the quoting process and improve communication between Gemini and its customers.

The Opportunity The old Research Protocol Catalog (RPC) app at Mayo Clinic was ineffective, with no clinicians utilizing it to track clinical trials or connect patients to potential opportunities. Given the multitude of ongoing trials, it was clear that doctors were overlooking chances to link their patients with potentially transformative care. The Outcome We believe that establishing a hierarchy enhances efficiency, which is crucial for clinicians who have limited time with patients. Our redesigned approach arranged results intuitively, enabling doctors and specialists to easily locate trials pertinent to their patients’ cancer type and access trial details and enrollment information at a glance. We focused on simplifying the content, creating a clear hierarchy, and developing consistent patterns for clinicians to set up and save various search filters. Ultimately, we developed a platform that allows oncologists to effectively enter and save essential patient data, search for relevant clinical trials, and ensure they spend their valuable time engaged with patients rather than navigating through an app.

The Opportunity: The initial Alliance website was designed primarily for researchers and clinicians, which left out other groups seeking cancer resources and overlooked potential treatment options. Its existing layout was not welcoming for patients and caregivers, and it failed to effectively convey the Alliance's purpose to those outside the medical profession.
