Mobile App Development for Disco Elysium

Disco Elysium, developed by ZA/UM, is an open-world role-playing game in which a team known as the Knights contributed to its development. Set in the historical city of Revachol within a fictional universe that blends modern elements with fantasy, the player assumes the role of a detective equipped with a distinctive skill system. The game's main activities include exploration, engaging in dialogue, and combat. Disco Elysium is hailed as a classic detective RPG and stands out as one of the most captivating games of 2019, requiring over 60 hours to finish and featuring approximately 100 quests. As Lead Designer Robert Kurvitz noted, “It is one million words long.” This impressive game garnered numerous awards prior to its official release and quickly became a global bestseller on platforms like Steam and GOG shortly after its launch. The Knights focused on refining various aspects of the game, including reworking the user interface design and localization, as well as assisting with bug fixes and enhancements to the character development and dialogue systems. The project spanned nearly 12 months and involved five Knights. Disco Elysium won four awards at The Game Awards 2019, including recognition in the HARDCORE MODE and WIDESCREEN categories. Three months post-launch, the game introduced the Hardcore True Detective mode, developed in collaboration with the Knights, who managed the implementation of a support system and special achievements for this mode. Additionally, they contributed to the widescreen mode's development, ensuring compatibility with ultrawide screens by redesigning the entire game interface for optimal performance on larger monitors.

The Knights have created an impressive remake of the acclaimed game Edna & Harvey: The Breakout - Anniversary Edition. The game has been completely redrawn and revamped, featuring high-resolution graphics, modern technology, and user-friendly controls. Edna and Harvey have been revitalized in this version. The Knights dedicated over two years to this project on behalf of Deadelic Entertainment, aiming to provide the game with a fresh aesthetic, introduce new mechanics, and enhance the overall player experience. They developed new graphic designs and assets inspired by the original Edna, while also adding new gameplay elements that adhered to the original game's rules. The project encompassed the complete development process, from character concepts to animation, gameplay, testing, and the adaptation of the PC version for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Essentially, the team deconstructed the game and reconstructed it entirely. A total of eleven Knights contributed to the development, including four programmers and seven artists. Edna & Harvey: The Breakout - Anniversary Edition launched on PC in December 2019 and on consoles in June 2020.
