AI Accelerated Insurance Platform Modernization
Keyhole Software collaborated with a Kansas City-based insurance company to update a crucial platform using an architect-driven, AI-enhanced delivery strategy. The objective was to replace an outdated, low-code SaaS system that restricted visibility, flexibility, and long-term management with a fully-owned, scalable architecture. Instead of increasing team size or pursuing a conventional multi-year rewrite, Keyhole managed the architecture, delivery framework, and engineering guidelines, allowing the client's internal team to work more efficiently and consistently. The modernization entailed a complete overhaul of the platform, including the user interface, services, database, and administrative tools. Keyhole implemented organized, AI-supported development workflows, consisting of simultaneous domain-based workstreams, automated documentation from source control, and ongoing validation practices. These workflows were integrated with robust architectural supervision and security measures to guarantee reliability and compliance throughout the process. As a result, delivery was significantly expedited, reducing an initial modernization timeline of 18–24 months to about five months, all without increasing the staff size. Two senior Keyhole consultants collaborated with the client's internal team to boost delivery capacity while ensuring top-notch quality, security, and consistency. Alongside improved speed, the engagement enhanced visibility, lowered documentation burdens, and facilitated consistent, daily progress. The client acquired a modern, maintainable platform as well as a repeatable delivery model for future projects. This initiative illustrates how architect-led, AI-accelerated development enables organizations to modernize complex systems more quickly while preserving control, governance, and scalability for the long term.
