Founded in 1990 by Lionel Maybin at Hickam AFB in Honolulu, Kenyatta Computer Services (KCS) was established with the vision of making emerging technology accessible to all. Initially focusing on desktop support as computers became household staples, KCS evolved alongside Lionel’s Air Force postings—from Oklahoma City during the rise of Windows 95, to Turkey where it embraced business services and e-commerce. Returning stateside to Anchorage, KCS launched an IT Academy to train youth and career changers. After Lionel's 2008 retirement, he dedicated himself fully to KCS and education, fostering partnerships with major corporations. In 2018, new CEO Nahjee Maybin propelled KCS's growth, building on a community-driven mission to expand its impact in IT education and client services nationwide.
