About the Team

OUR STORY

Kaskasi embraces joy as a core value, which was vividly showcased during a recent group run involving friends, networks, and clients. Led by Taru and Lauri Palsa, participants received expert running technique coaching, focusing on hand and ankle movement, foundational running principles, and coordination exercises. This collective activity fostered a positive atmosphere and reinforced a compassionate perspective: if something works well, there's no need to force changes. While proper running technique matters, Kaskasi prioritizes the enjoyment and comfort of movement above flawless execution. This event exemplified how running can enhance life positively, reflecting the company's commitment to joy and community. Gratitude extends to the coaches and everyone who joined, highlighting Kaskasi's engaging and supportive culture.

Broad media coverage for refurbed in Finland

refurbed

Refurbed, Europe’s leading marketplace for refurbished products, began its operations in Finland in the fall of 2024, with Kaskas serving as its ongoing PR partner. Through this partnership, refurbed has achieved significant visibility in Finland's top media channels. The company operates based on the principles of the circular economy and aspires to be the "Green Amazon," providing consumers with reliable and sustainable refurbished devices at prices up to 40% lower than new ones. As part of its launch strategy in Finland, refurbed aimed to enhance brand recognition and establish refurbished devices as an appealing and trustworthy choice for Finnish consumers. To support this goal, Kaskas developed a detailed PR strategy that generated extensive media attention during the company's launch in Finland. This included organizing a press event, facilitating interviews with select media outlets, and distributing a press release widely. After the launch, we maintained proactive media relations by offering op-eds, press releases, story ideas, and interview opportunities to various outlets, and we also assisted refurbed with crisis communications. The outcome of these efforts has been highly successful, making this one of refurbed’s most effective market entries to date. Our ongoing media relations have secured coverage for refurbed in all major Finnish media, as well as regional and local outlets and tech publications. Since the partnership began, the potential reach has been around 109 million. The launch alone resulted in 11 media articles and coverage on TV and radio, reaching nearly 1.7 million Finns. Kaskas continues to work with refurbed in Finland, aiding the company in building brand awareness and encouraging Finnish consumers to make more sustainable choices.

If’s webinars sparked discussion on weather risks

We developed a webinar concept for the insurance company If, aimed at increasing awareness about the risks associated with extreme weather and how to prepare for them. Background: If wanted to highlight the dangers of extreme weather and effective preparation methods. Events such as floods, storms, and heavy rainfall are now common occurrences in the Nordics, driven by climate change, and they pose threats to homes, businesses, and communities. The intention was to initiate discussions on this issue throughout the Nordic countries: Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark. What we did: To foster awareness and dialogue, If hosted its first joint Nordic webinar on extreme weather risks and preparedness in spring 2024. This event gathered experts, businesses, and the public. Kaskas oversaw the event's planning and execution, which included designing the webinar concept, developing the content, coaching the speakers, facilitating the broadcast, and managing production. The results: The webinar drew nearly 800 viewers, and the recording remains accessible on If’s website. The relevant theme and effective format led to the continuation of the webinar in the following year. In April 2025, the event was repeated with the same focus. Kaskas once again handled the concept, content planning, speaker coaching, moderation, and production. Within just two months, the recording had garnered over 600 views. If's webinars showcase that even intricate subjects can be presented in a clear and engaging manner when combining expertise, storytelling, and interaction into a cohesive package.

Environmental communications glossary for HSL

HSL Helsinki Region Transport

We assisted Helsinki Region Transport (HSL) in enhancing the credibility and coherence of its sustainability messaging by creating a practical environmental communications framework and providing clear guidelines for experts in their everyday tasks. Background: HSL engages over a million residents and visitors in the Helsinki metropolitan area with its sustainability communications. Terms related to ecological sustainability can be technical, yet the messaging must be accessible and comply with increasingly strict EU regulations. What we did: Kaskas addressed this challenge by developing an ecological sustainability glossary and associated guidelines that integrate the principles and requirements of sustainability communications, current regulatory information, and accurate, fact-based language. This tool aids experts in communicating sustainability consistently and credibly across various channels, while also offering strategic direction for HSL’s sustainability communications. The glossary's visual layout and practical examples make it user-friendly for experts in different roles. A clear traffic-light system for terminology, along with alternative expressions, assists users in selecting the right language for communication. We also evaluated HSL's existing sustainability materials and provided specific recommendations for updating their messaging in accordance with evolving EU regulations. The outcomes: The glossary and guidelines were well received by HSL staff interacting with customers. They initiated conversations about the meaning of ecological sustainability in communications and the strategic decisions required moving forward. The terminology bank has become a fundamental component of HSL’s strategic sustainability efforts, contributing to the clarity, reliability, and relevance of communications in the future.
