Alberta Teachers Retirement Fund Office

Alberta Teachers Retirement Fund

The Alberta Teachers Retirement Fund (ATRF) acts as the trustee, administrator, and custodian for the assets of the Teachers’ Pension Plan. Established by the Alberta Legislature in 1939, the ATRF has a long-standing relationship with Alberta teachers, initially serving 5,844 members and now managing pensions for over 80,000 teachers. This project focused on integrating a new addition with their existing facilities at Barnett House in Edmonton (named after John Barnett, the ATRF's first Executive Director). Barnett House is situated in the Queen Alexandra area of Edmonton, which features a blend of residential and commercial properties.

Casino Regina

SaskGaming Corporation

In the heart of downtown Regina lies a significant piece of Canadian prairie architectural history. Once called Union Station, this heritage building made of Tyndall stone was established in 1912 as a station hall for the Canadian National Railway. After its decommissioning in 1996, the provincial government opened a local casino in its place. The casino now attracts over 20 million visitors annually, yet the heritage building has not undergone any improvements or renovations since it was first built. SaskGaming Corporation enlisted our services to redesign the entire casino to align with a new brand for the building, updating the interiors to create a modern feel and appealing to a younger audience who would value a refreshed environment.

Douglas College

Douglas College aimed to transform their current library environment to promote innovative learning and collaboration among students. Given our experience with library upgrades and new constructions, including projects like the TFDL, Beaumont Library, and Stony Plain Library, along with our strong relationship with the campus team, we were the obvious choice for this initiative.
