ABOUT JADEMOND DIGITALResearch-led China strategy and execution.
Jademond Digital is a research-driven Chinese digital marketing agency established in 2012 in Guangzhou by Kun Tang. The name "Jademond" merges "Jade," China's treasured gemstone, with "Mond," the German word for moon, symbolizing the agency's goal to connect Eastern and Western cultures. Operating from offices in Guangzhou and Tianjin, the agency offers both strategic consultancy and hands-on execution, employing a team primarily made up of native Chinese experts. Jademond specializes in five key areas, encompassing the entire Chinese digital realm: Baidu SEO, marketing on Chinese social media platforms (like Xiaohongshu/RedNote, WeChat, Douyin, Weibo, and Kuaishou), management of e-commerce in China (including JD.com, Tmall, Tmall Global, and cross-border commerce), KOL and influencer marketing, and optimization for Chinese AI search (AIO/GEO) on newer platforms such as Baidu's ERNIE Bot, Doubao, Kimi, and Tongyi Qianwen. A hallmark of Jademond is its emphasis on research. SEO Director Marcus Pentzek has conducted the only empirical studies on Baidu SEO ranking factors—first with Searchmetrics in 2020, analyzing the top 20 results for 50,000 Mandarin Chinese keywords, and later independently with Jademond in 2024, examining 118 factors across 10,000 keywords. His findings, published in Search Engine Journal, challenged common misconceptions about Chinese search rankings related to domain extensions, keyword usage, and hosting requirements. Founder Kun Tang combines deep knowledge of the Chinese market with an MBA in International Marketing from Hochschule Pforzheim in Germany, fostering an agency culture described as "Chinese speed with German quality." Tang and Pentzek also co-authored "SEO for China: Chinese Search Engine Optimization" (2022), the most detailed English-language resource on Baidu SEO. Jademond has worked with international brands such as WD-40, Leica, Meltwater, and Cloudflare.
