ABOUT THE INTERACTION CONSORTIUMCollaborative, thoughtful web software development
The Interaction Consortium, or The IC, is a software studio established in 2009, specializing in the development of robust web platforms that support aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly digital designs, leveraging strong system integrations. We utilize our extensive experience in simplifying complex issues to deliver optimal user experiences, ensuring that performance, stability, and durability are never compromised. Our portfolio features websites for prominent cultural organizations such as the National Gallery of Australia, The Factory in Manchester, The Australian Museum, and SFMOMA—each integrating a collection database, ticketing, e-commerce, CRM, and other backend systems to ensure a seamless user journey. Additionally, we have developed web and mobile applications for a variety of clients, including the Syrinscape soundscape platform and The Royal Botanic Gardens' plant genetic sample database, among others. Our team of eleven operates from Sydney, Auckland, and Manila, alongside a few remote workers. We possess in-house expertise in user experience (UX) research (including Information Architecture), digital strategy, mobile-first graphic design, accessibility guidance, front-end development (using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Vue, and htmx), back-end development (Django and the Wagtail CMS), DevOps, and cloud hosting services. This diverse skill set facilitates collaboration with other suppliers, as we are accustomed to integrating additional designers and developers into our workflow. Our approach emphasizes humane, collaborative, and thoughtful partnerships with our clients and collaborators, and we structure all our internal and client-facing processes accordingly. Each interaction serves as an opportunity for learning and knowledge-sharing.
