Migration to Microsoft Azure
Enhance the efficiency, accessibility, and security of IT infrastructure by transitioning to the Microsoft Azure cloud platform. Over the course of a 12-month project, 680 servers from two main Data Centers were migrated to Microsoft Azure, serving a total of 2,000 users, and 85 terminal servers were converted to the PaaS Windows Virtual Desktop. This migration to Azure will improve the infrastructure's efficiency, availability, and security, increasing flexibility and adaptability, accelerating the deployment of new systems and services, and ensuring business continuity. The project's objectives included unifying the IT services of a group of companies in Italy, the UK, Bulgaria, Switzerland, and the United States into a cohesive IT infrastructure model, enhancing service management, reducing operational and support costs, and establishing a centralized toolset for information security management. Prior to this, the companies utilized various data storage and backup systems. Microsoft Azure enables the development, deployment, and management of applications in the cloud while storing data on servers in distributed data centers.
