Digital Insurance Platform

The Challenge In 2021, Instil was chosen by one of the largest insurance firms in Ireland to create their new online platform. The company had been successful in the traditional brick-and-mortar sector for over 50 years, relying on strong customer relationships for its success. While loyalty is highly valued in the local market, the organization acknowledged the need to establish a strong digital presence due to rapidly changing consumer behaviors. The Solution The primary focus was on the auto-insurance market, with the parent company aiming to launch Stroll within 12 months. This involved designing and developing both a web and mobile user experience, as well as establishing a reliable technology platform with a team of approximately 10 people in under a year. Our approach concentrated on the online quoting process and policy management features, deferring renewals and mid-term changes for later implementation. From a technological perspective, we needed to select a stack that would enable rapid progress, easy scaling, and minimal operational management. Audio Modelling Software

The Challenge In 2019, a well-known audio company engaged Instil to create a software product for audio engineers, aimed at modeling equipment configurations and placements in large venues. The software needed to demonstrate how the arrangement of speakers could influence sound dynamics in a physical space and provide visualizations of sound performance in both 2D and 3D. The Solution This project involved intensive UI/UX and software development efforts. Essentially, our design team developed a design system using Figma, which our engineers then utilized to build a desktop application based on React and Electron. The tool is developed in TypeScript and makes use of standard JavaScript libraries to facilitate the modeling and visualization of 3D spaces. We continue to support this exceptional company with additional development initiatives.

Digital Evidence Management System

Pinnacle Response designs and manufactures body-worn cameras for the security sector. They are an excellent company offering a fantastic lineup of top-tier cameras. However, their previous DEMS software—created and owned by a third party—had several limitations that fell short of the evidence industry's requirements. To address this, Approach Instil was engaged to oversee project management, user interface design, and software development. A significant challenge was delivering the project for a fixed price while ensuring it maintained the appearance and features of an agile project. The team successfully navigated these constraints. Architecturally, the DEMS platform was divided into three components. In the end, Pinnacle was very pleased with their new software, which now provides a leading DEMS platform that integrates seamlessly with their body-worn cameras, facilitating effortless capturing, editing, searching, and managing of evidential videos.
