PayZilch - Fastest growing BNPL Unicorn

PayZilch

Pay Zilch is a digital wallet tailored for millennials, featuring the Zilch Mastercard and convenient repayment through a customer's linked debit card. The Challenge Innovify was given the task of building this digital wallet (via a web application) from the ground up to meet Pay Zilch's ambitious rollout plans within a very limited timeframe of about four months, from initial briefing to final delivery. Alongside developing the web application, Innovify also needed to meet several compliance and best practice benchmarks: ensuring a real-time Transaction Processing Time of under 250 milliseconds, achieving PCI-DSS compliance for optimal security and data protection, and navigating a plethora of third-party dependencies with inadequate API documentation, which made integration with other solutions extremely challenging. The Solution Innovify's initial step involved clearly defining the project's scope through a discovery workshop with key stakeholders, which helped outline the complex project, establish Innovify’s strategy, and anticipate potential challenges. Following this, a specialized software SWAT team was assembled to work closely with Pay Zilch, along with Innovify’s Delivery Manager and Tech Lead, to keep the project on schedule. To achieve the necessary rapid Transaction Processing Time, Innovify refined Pay Zilch’s technical architecture on AWS (Amazon Web Services) and optimized its database. The team adopted a serverless microservices architecture to reduce customer downtime and facilitate continuous improvements. They addressed the various API integrations through collaborative efforts with third-party providers, including essential integrations with GPS, Xero, and CashFlows. Innovify diligently analyzed each integration, studying and testing the APIs to ensure they could support all functionalities required by the web app.
