Total developers hired: 7; Active developers: 4. Technologies used: Java, Spring, AWS, Kubernetes, Ember.js, React/React Native, Node.js.
Project Overview: Omio, previously known as GoEuro, is a travel booking platform established in 2013, boasting over 300 employees from more than 50 countries and total funding of $476 million. The company collaborates with over 1000 transportation providers, including Lufthansa, Delta, and RyanAir, to offer a user-friendly mobile booking app.
Challenge: Omio needed experienced full-stack Java developers with a strong background in Spring to speed up product development. Traditional hiring methods were slow and expensive due to market competition. To optimize their recruitment process and enhance candidate quality within budget constraints, they turned to tech recruitment outsourcing.
Solution: In 2021, Omio teamed up with Index.dev, gaining access to a pre-vetted pool of Java engineers from talent hubs in Central and Eastern Europe, Turkey, and Asia. By focusing on problem-solving, initiative, and leadership skills, Index.dev facilitated the onboarding of four certified Full-Stack Java Developers with international remote project experience. Omio subsequently grew its team by adding three more developers for long-term full-stack and backend projects.
Results: The partnership with Index.dev led to seven successful placements, with four active developers currently contributing. The collaboration enhanced the efficiency of the hiring and screening process while keeping candidates within budget. Index.dev supported effective communication and built long-lasting relationships, managing developers' needs and ensuring high retention. The integrated developers aligned well with Omio's technical requirements and surpassed expectations.
