Our study explores the impact of toe flexor exercises on grip strength and foot function. Recognizing that weakened toe flexor muscles contribute to toe pathologies, we investigated whether targeted toe grip exercises could enhance grip and alter foot mechanics. Recruiting twenty-three healthy participants, we measured plantar pressures and foot contact dynamics before and after a six-week daily exercise regimen using a therapy ball. Findings revealed significant increases in static peak pressure at the second and third toe apices and longer contact times during walking, suggesting improved forefoot stability. These results highlight the potential of toe flexion exercises to enhance gait efficiency and possibly mitigate the progression of toe-related issues, offering a promising avenue for clinical interventions.
