Our client identified a market opportunity for social networks tailored to dog owners and tasked us with creating an app for dog enthusiasts in the New York area. Consequently, we developed a native iOS mobile application using Bubble. The app, named Mond, incorporates features typically seen in social networking platforms: it allows users to create profiles that highlight their dogs (including details like breed, neutering status, and energy level), share a news feed, upload photos, add friends, and send personal messages. However, the standout feature of Mond is an interactive map showcasing all the dog parks in New York. Users can check in at these parks, making their location visible to other app users, and they can also arrange scheduled visits, which will appear in their friends' feeds. Additionally, users with Instagram accounts for their dogs can link them to the app, allowing their Instagram photos to be displayed on their Mond profile. It started as a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) to gauge interest among potential users. Following a successful proof of concept, we completed the website, transforming it into a fully operational product with a sophisticated custom data filtering system. LetzCompare exemplifies how to navigate the limitations of Bubble’s backend and frontend to achieve optimum performance with a product-specific data structure. This was accomplished by employing standard server filters alongside advanced front-end filters simultaneously. To minimize loading times, we managed displayed data through various element states that execute different database queries, which are shown according to their loading speed and status. This approach allows users to view data even while the app processes their search.
