API development for an Internet Service Provider
**Overview:**
**Challenges:**
- The current ERP system, created 15 years ago using PHP, is both outdated and no longer viable.
- ServDesk operates on an unupdated version of PHP, making it susceptible to security threats.
- There are numerous unused modules without the ability to disable or optimize them.
- Communication with the previous developer is inadequate, hindering support from other contractors.
- The outdated technology results in slow performance of ServDesk.
**Objectives:**
To create the Terms of Reference (ToR) for the initial phase of ServDesk development, which includes Equipment directories, Subscribers, Connections, and Addresses, and to build a new ServDesk utilizing the Laravel Nova package.
**Solution:**
The client received a system that offers distributed access levels, allowing the owner, technical support operators, and engineers to manage, monitor, and facilitate the connection of new subscribers. The system is supported by well-structured technical documentation for ease of modifications and maintenance.
**Technologies Used:**
- **Front-end:** Axure, Vue.js, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, WebPack.
- **Back-end:** PHP, Laravel, Laravel Nova.
- **Integrations:** Front-end website, REST API, Radius, Juniper.
- **DevOps:** GitLab, GitLab CI, GitLab Runner, PHP Unit, Google Cloud Platform.
