Harbinson Mulholland

Harbinson Mulholland is a firm of independent Chartered Accountants that has gained the trust of businesses throughout Northern Ireland and beyond by providing award-winning advice for over 25 years. They were seeking a new website that better represented their brand and the quality of their services. A major challenge was balancing their offerings for mid-sized businesses and support for the local economy while also catering to larger corporations with a global outlook. The firm aimed to highlight their brand values of service, excellence, and care, which are essential to their progressive approach. Horrible Brands was tasked with creating a new website that would refresh the brand both creatively and technically, solidifying Harbinson Mulholland's position in the local market and enhancing credibility for potential clients and new hires. The redesigned website was intended to be modern and interactive, inviting users to explore the firm’s values, team, core services, testimonials, and thought leadership articles. Updating the brand and its design is only part of the effort; crucially, the right content was necessary to distinguish Harbinson Mulholland as a trustworthy partner and employer. To tackle this, Horrible Brands collaborated with the Harbinson Mulholland team to develop a comprehensive Brand Strategy outlining their mission, vision, tone of voice, challenges, and proposed solutions. This strategy informed the content creation, allowing for the development of clear messaging that accurately reflected the firm.

As I Am - Brand Strategy & eCommerce Web Design

As I Am

As I Am is the leading autism charity in Ireland, committed to providing reliable evidence-based advice, resources, and support for the community. With its growth as a charity organization that extensively supports autistic individuals and their families, As I Am required a new website that offered a more user-friendly experience. The old site had expanded to almost 400 pages, many of which were outdated or not easily accessible from the main navigation. This, along with inconsistent menu layouts and page designs, made it challenging for users to find essential advice, enroll in fundraising events, and make donations. Horrible Brands designed a new website to enhance navigability and maintain consistency in page layouts. The new design needed to reflect the charity's values and engage a diverse audience. An e-commerce feature was essential for selling Autism ID Cards, a key service for both adults and children, as well as merchandise for supporters. It was also crucial to comply with web accessibility standards, particularly in presenting extensive FAQs, tutorials, webinars, and other online resources without overwhelming users. To achieve an effective user experience, Horrible Brands conducted a thorough Information Architecture workshop to evaluate all pages from the previous site and suggest which content should be preserved, merged, or removed. For any removed pages, a 301 redirect strategy was implemented to maintain the site's visibility with search engines. Additionally, technical research and the implementation of a new donations app were necessary to facilitate recurring donations and allow donors to opt in to cover transaction fees.

EPIC Gems is a high-end luxury cookie brand featured in boutique hotels and corporate gatherings. Made from the finest ingredients, these cookies offer more than just flavor; they create experiences intended to inspire moments of reflection and joy. The brand aimed to develop a completely new identity, packaging, and online presence that mirrored the delight and luxury of their cookies, providing customers with a distinctive and interactive experience. Maintaining consistency across all platforms was essential, as was embodying the brand's core values of mindfulness, joy, and self-worth. The packaging needed to exude a premium quality to distinguish the product in a saturated market. Horrible initiated the process by formulating a comprehensive Brand Strategy, targeting the Explorer and Lover archetypes to reflect themes of adventure, luxury, and deep emotional connection. The Brand Identity and Packaging Design featured each box embellished with sophisticated, vibrant visuals that aimed to evoke wonder and suggest an extraordinary sensory experience. The website design cleverly incorporated these patterns in key spots, like page headers, to enhance user engagement. An important element of the Brand Strategy was to provide a meditative experience that aligned with the brand's emphasis on mindfulness and reflection, thus enriching the customer experience. To realize this, Horrible created bookmarks to accompany each cookie order, featuring QR codes that linked to exclusive meditative audio tracks in four themes: Calmness, Abundance, Rituals, and Action. Each bookmark incorporated variations of the color scheme designed for the packaging, reinforcing the journey through each of these themes. This addition not only enriched the offering but also granted customers a moment of peace and inspiration, transforming each cookie into more than just a snack.
