Tesco - Brand Asset Management System

**Summary:** Tesco’s Brand team needed a Brand Asset Management (BAM) system to store all marketing assets and digital campaign materials for sharing with agencies, suppliers, and internal teams across various business units. This system functions as a digital library for brand assets, providing access to images, videos, PDFs, tags, graphics, guides, labels, and more, thereby ensuring brand consistency, particularly in digital channels. Tesco chose Haefele Software to create a fully customized system that could be tailored to their specific needs and refined throughout development. A primary goal was to make the system user-friendly so that it would be effectively utilized by internal teams, agencies, and suppliers to maintain brand consistency. Tesco’s Packaging Design team, which manages the packaging for Tesco's own brand products, needed a workflow management system to oversee their packaging projects from initial idea to final placement on store shelves. The software is utilized by various external partners, including design agencies, suppliers, and printers, as well as internal stakeholders such as product development managers, brand and design teams, and technical managers. It acts as a centralized repository for assets and guidelines, but its primary function is to streamline the artwork approval process across its multiple stages, from conception through production. Like many legacy systems, the software required modernization to enhance usability and improve performance and speed. Tesco Corporation decided that a complete redesign was necessary to align the platform’s appearance with major brand guidelines. Additionally, a significant upgrade involved migrating the system from on-premise infrastructure to the Cloud using Microsoft Azure. The Pikmykid app was developed in response to the difficulties many schools in the United States face with their dismissal procedures, leading to considerable confusion and frustration. Additionally, significant safety weaknesses needed to be addressed. Since its inception, Pikmykid has evolved to provide schools with a thorough platform that streamlines dismissal processes, involves parents, and ensures student safety. In 2021, Haefele was enlisted to undertake several responsibilities for Pikmykid. The client initially approached Haefele to help find an appropriate development team in Tampa, Florida—where Pikmykid is based—and to create code that would enhance Pikmykid's capabilities while addressing some of the technical debt built up over the years. The first task for Haefele was to completely refactor the Pikmykid code base. Although Pikmykid had begun this project on their own, they quickly recognized that the workload was too extensive.
