I’ve spent years dealing with interfaces that make smart products feel dysfunctional. An AI tool that users abandon midway—not because it’s ineffective, but because they can’t figure out the next step. A dashboard where obtaining a single number requires six clicks. Six! A DevOps platform created by talented engineers without any designers involved. The engineering behind these tools was strong, yet the recurring issue is that no one considered the needs of the actual users. That’s where my team comes in. We’re a trio of senior designers, not a sales-heavy agency with a bunch of junior staff doing the actual work. There are five of us total (including me as the Lead Designer and PM who handles operational tasks so the designers can focus on their work). I manage the studio and spend my days in Figma rather than in unproductive meetings.
