Independence Historical Trust
THE FIRST BANK OF THE UNITED STATES Commemorating a significant milestone with a major press conference The Independence Historical Trust (INHT), the philanthropic collaborator of Independence National Park, sought assistance with fundraising efforts to restore the iconic First Bank of the United States building, erected in Philadelphia in the 1790s, with plans to convert it into an interactive museum. INHT partnered with Gregory FCA to facilitate the announcement of the project and its fundraising initiatives, which included organizing a major press conference event.
Our Approach Similar to many real estate projects we handle at Gregory FCA, we began by focusing on the narrative. Through extensive research, building tours, discussions with historians, and consultations with key stakeholders, our Creative Department developed an engaging microsite that would serve as an informational hub for media and potential donors regarding the project. We captured stunning photographs of the building, created a comprehensive press release detailing the funding and restoration, and produced a summary of the project's origin story, a fact sheet, and a media FAQ. Next, we concentrated on organizing the major press conference. We dedicated weeks to compile extensive invitation lists and crafted a strategic media plan. A detailed run-of-show was created down to the minute, and we confirmed the participation of more than 10 speakers, including state and local government representatives, INHT, the National Park Service, project partners, and even a representation of George Washington.
The Results The event was a great success, attracting over 200 notable guests, including various media representatives. Within a week, our team garnered more than 120 media placements in leading national, local, and industry publications.
