Disseminating Insights for UQ’s Tesla Battery

University of Queensland

The University of Queensland (UQ), known for its academic prowess and commitment to innovation, sought to disseminate information about its groundbreaking energy initiatives while engaging both university stakeholders and the general public. The Tesla Battery, with a notable capacity of 1.1 MW / 2.2 MWh, is the largest lithium battery installation at any Australian university, generating significant interest among students and researchers. We created an intuitive and visually engaging dashboard placed in front of the battery enclosure, also available on the UQ Sustainability webpage. This platform provided real-time updates on the battery's operational status and offered access to extensive historical datasets. Using technologies like ReactJS, Greenhat developed a user-friendly dashboard that presented the battery's performance metrics through clear time series data visualizations. Despite the data's complexity, the dashboard's minimalist design made it accessible to a wide audience, including both energy management experts and novices. By employing a serverless architecture hosted on AWS S3 and utilizing a JSON API for smooth data retrieval, Greenhat ensured the dashboard's performance and scalability. This innovative solution not only helped UQ simplify complex data but also turned the dashboard into a valuable educational tool for stakeholders and the broader community.

Fully Customised Solutions for Online Education

Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors

AIPC encountered multiple obstacles. Their website and primary technology were managed internally, which led to frequent hardware failures and site downtime, adversely affecting their service delivery and reputation. Consequently, they needed to shift to a cloud-based solution that offered redundant, scalable, and secure infrastructure. Furthermore, their six-year-old website was in need of a brand and design overhaul, with a focus on optimizing user journeys for lead generation and online student registrations. They also required a fully customized Learning Management System (LMS), along with various portals and extensive integrations with CRM, payment processors, and marketing platforms. We completely updated the AIPC website with a new brand and design, emphasizing intuitive navigation, engaging interfaces, and mobile friendliness. The redesign aimed at creating clear and concise user experiences, leading to improved outcomes like lead generation and student registrations, thereby enhancing the overall user experience. We transitioned AIPC to AWS infrastructure, ensuring multi-zone redundancy, automated backups, and rollbacks for optimum uptime and reliability. Security was reinforced with encrypted data storage in both RDS and Amazon S3 buckets, alongside strict access controls to safeguard sensitive information and ensure regulatory compliance. Custom dashboards were created to deliver detailed reports and analytics, drawing data from Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and various advertising platforms (Google, Facebook, Bing, etc.). These tools enabled visibility and actionable insights into user behavior, campaign effectiveness, and system performance, facilitating data-driven decision-making. Additionally, we set up a maintenance and support system that included regular updates, security monitoring, and prompt issue resolution, ensuring the website remains secure, functional, and current.
