The Institute serves as the cultural hub of France in Denmark, with a team of 15 professionals dedicated to promoting the French language, art, science, and culture. Situated in central Copenhagen, the French Institute fosters dialogue and exchanges between France and Denmark across cultural, linguistic, and scientific domains. Central to our mission is the sharing of knowledge, facilitating discussions and debates among thinkers, researchers, and creators from both nations. We showcase the latest artistic and cultural innovations as well as educational and scientific progress, promoting French initiatives in collaboration with Danish institutions and the wider public. In partnership with various Danish and French collaborators, the Institute actively supports and develops new Franco-Danish cooperation projects each year. Each service we offer focuses on a specific aspect of cultural exchange. The French Courses Service provides language courses, while the Cooperation Service for French oversees educational and pedagogical initiatives. In the realm of culture and the arts, our Culture Department organizes a variety of collaborations and events such as concerts, exhibitions, debates, and conferences. Meanwhile, our Scientific and University Cooperation Department maintains ongoing dialogue between research institutes and universities, fosters collaborations among researchers, and supports Campus France’s activities in Denmark.

Hike + Bike the Sierrras

Hike + Bike the Sierras is operated by an English duo, Heather Cooper and Wayne Pickering. They first ventured to Ronda in 2012 and instantly fell in love with the town and its beautiful countryside. During their initial visit, they explored the area but noticed a significant lack of available information, reliable maps, and designated biking or hiking trails. Recognizing the untapped potential, they decided to return and establish their business as guides and holiday hosts. Today, they take great joy in introducing visitors to the stunning, unspoiled landscape and the two protected Natural Parks that stretch for miles around the town. Wayne is a fully certified British Cycling Level 2 Mountain Bike Leader who enjoys biking, whether guiding tours or discovering new paths. He possesses extensive knowledge of the unmarked trails in the Serrania de Ronda, Grazalema Natural Park, Sierra de las Nieves Natural Park, and down to the Costa del Sol. Heather, with her background in marketing and hospitality, is also trained by British Cycling for Mountain Bike rides. She supports Wayne on larger group excursions and leads walking tours. Heather enjoys cultivating relationships with hotel and accommodation owners and manages all the logistics for their day trips and tours.
