MXR Imaging is a prominent provider of diagnostic imaging equipment and supplies in the U.S. They operate a B2B e-commerce platform for their clients to place orders. However, the website was built on an outdated version of Adobe Magento Enterprise, which was no longer receiving security updates, presenting a significant risk to both customers and MXR. Therefore, MXR Imaging sought assistance from Global Triangles to upgrade their e-commerce site to the latest version of Magento. During the assessment, our expert team discovered that MXR was not utilizing many of the unique features of the Enterprise edition, and those they did use could be easily replaced with affordable plugins available in the community edition. Additionally, MXR had a complex and unreliable custom integration with their SAP ERP system. We proposed that they transition to the community edition, which would save them over $50,000 annually in licensing fees. We also advised rewriting the SAP integration to enhance its stability and reliability. The challenge was that MXR's contract for Magento renewal was set to expire in 60 days, creating a tight deadline that seemed difficult to meet. Nevertheless, the team of certified Magento developers at Global Triangles successfully transitioned MXR's e-commerce store to Adobe Magento Community 2.x and also restructured the SAP integration to align better with the new version. Consequently, MXR now possesses a faster, more secure, and feature-rich e-commerce site that is significantly more cost-effective. Additionally, Global Triangles collaborated closely with MXR to ensure that the new platform addressed their business requirements, conducting user testing and recommending enhancements to improve the user experience. Their approach involved installing water purification systems in clients' residences and charging a low monthly fee that covered all service and maintenance.
