Santander: Platform aligned with RDA principles

Unknown

Banco Santander is a prominent global financial institution that has operated in Uruguay for over 25 years. The project's goal was to create a platform that aligns the organization with the RDA (Risk Data Aggregation) principles, set forth by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision in 2013, which focus on data risk management and regulatory compliance. To achieve this, a central model was established to aggregate information from various sources within the organization into a single, normalized, historical, and certified repository. The key advantages achieved by Banco Santander Uruguay include: automation of essential processes, timely generation of reports and metrics for presentation to the Corporation and the European Central Bank, acquisition of data through a rigorous quality process in line with RDA principles, and enhanced transparency in information.

GARMET: Improving efficiency in logistics

Unknown

GARMET is a Uruguayan company that focuses on the logistics and marketing of fertilizers, seeds, agrochemicals, herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, and similar products. This initiative is part of GARMET's digital transformation journey, which aims to utilize digital technologies to innovate its business model. The organization recognized the need to revamp its logistics processes to yield significant results that could provide a competitive edge in the market. To address client needs, a suite of mobile and web applications was created to streamline and enhance operations related to grain freight requests from producers, coordination by GARMET staff, and fulfillment by truck drivers. GARMET's key partners also gain from this logistical advancement. Additionally, the platform reduces the need for phone communications, minimizes response times, and optimizes internal processes. The initial version of the platform launched in November 2021, facilitating around 3,000 trips involving over 400 carriers and producers. Since then, numerous updates have been implemented based on ongoing improvements and innovations.

VUCE: Simplifying foreign trade in Uruguay

Unknown

The Ventanilla Única de Comercio Exterior (One-stop Window for Foreign Trade) in Uruguay originated as a project spearheaded by the National Customs Authority and the Interministerial Commission for Foreign Trade Affairs. VUCE serves to streamline foreign trade by consolidating and standardizing data and documentation at a single electronic entry point, facilitating compliance with all import, export, and transit processes. We created a system that integrates over 20 government agencies and connects more than 60 different systems on one platform. The organizational advantages include enhanced information quality, improved customs controls, efficient resource usage, and better traceability management indicators. Additionally, there is increased transparency. The operational benefits comprise shorter waiting times, reduced transfers and costs, greater process predictability, and enhanced transparency.
