Search Acumen

Search Acumen frequently collaborates with Geeks in strategy sessions to thoroughly evaluate their daily operations, identify efficiency improvements using emerging technologies like AI, and support informed investment decisions. A recent analysis revealed that although various data providers offer direct interfaces, some still deliver data through email attachments. This reliance forced Search Acumen into inefficient manual processes, resulting in significant delays of several weeks in data processing. While this was manageable initially, it became increasingly impractical as their client base grew, making ongoing hiring for these tasks unsustainable. To overcome this growth obstacle, Geeks created a tailored Machine Learning model designed to categorize emails effectively, ensuring efficient data sorting. Named "Robbie," this AI model extracts and analyzes information from both email bodies and attachments, linking it to the corresponding client orders. It is capable of categorizing emails and verifying the information against details from local authorities. Search Acumen describes Robbie as the 'Indefatigable Employee' due to its speed, accuracy, and capabilities. Robbie continuously learns and currently processes about 90% of incoming emails independently, without human intervention. Over the past year, the business received more than 65,000 emails, with only 11% requiring manual expert intervention for minor verification, which in turn helped enhance Robbie’s learning. The outcomes of this AI implementation are significant: the AI agent instantly reviews and processes over 95% of incoming emails without human assistance. In its first year, it managed over 58,000 emails autonomously, achieving 100% accuracy on all completed tasks and minimizing human error. This advancement contributed to the company's valuation and facilitated a successful acquisition due to the adoption of AI.

ChannelPorts

The Challenge: The UK's exit from the European Union has had a profound impact on various industries, particularly the customs clearance sector. On an average day, ChannelPorts processes around 500 import and export entries, which accounts for only 5% of the total shipments transiting through the Channel Tunnel. The remaining 95% of shipments move freely from the EU with fewer regulations. As the transition period was nearing its end and the threat of a no-deal exit loomed, significant changes in demand were anticipated. ChannelPorts recognized the need to prepare for a potential surge from 500 to 15,000 entries per day, predominantly from traders unfamiliar with the customs procedures. They understood that technology and the automation of their current manual operations would be vital in addressing this challenge, prompting them to seek a suitable specialist. The Solution: The project began with a series of Solution Design workshops where ChannelPorts outlined their business processes and requirements, identifying several paper-based procedures that could benefit from automation. The team at Geeks then created a concept and prototype using their proprietary wireframing software, Visual Spec, before quickly proceeding to development. This led to the creation of CustomsPro, a tool that facilitates the electronic creation and filing of shipments entering and leaving the UK. The software features an intuitive workflow that streamlines customer and invoice management as well as the process of creating and tracking shipments. It validates data fields, and built-in rules and logic assist both staff and clients in completing and submitting necessary documentation accurately and efficiently. Additionally, Geeks developed several APIs to link with ChannelPorts' clients’ existing databases, enabling automatic creation of shipment records with stored information.

Big Life Adventure

The primary challenge for Big Life Adventure was finding a way to balance safety with empowerment in a social care environment that often prioritizes caution, which can limit individuals with learning disabilities. They aimed to dismantle these obstacles by promoting risk-taking and experiential learning while remaining responsible for their duty of care. Furthermore, constraints due to limited funding for healthcare services added pressure in terms of time and budget. In response to these challenges, Big Life Adventure sought to develop a social media platform that supports self-expression and communication without judgment or overbearing oversight. To ensure we created a meaningful solution that met all user requirements, we began a design phase focused solely on enhancing user experience. We established a clear guiding vision for the project's success and identified user needs through detailed personas. After the design phase, we entered into research and development, thoroughly examining various AI solutions to find the best match for Big Life Adventure. In a relatively short time, we built a prototype that enabled the team to test AI features and demonstrate the platform's potential to future users. Our team developed a scalable, AI-powered solution that improved their social media platform, creating a safe and engaging environment for individuals with learning disabilities. Utilizing our award-winning tool, VisualSpec, we designed an intuitive interface that allows admin users to easily monitor content and train AI models. By applying AI to help monitor and educate vulnerable adults about social boundaries and risks, Big Life Adventure can safeguard its users while allowing them the freedom to make their own decisions, thereby closing the digital divide and promoting self-sufficiency.
