OUR STORY

Additionally, Gaurus collaborates on EU customs management systems (ITMS) and has developed applications like ODPP&PP for passenger traffic duties and the mDigital platform for electronic goods distribution. Portfolio

ITMS - Integrated Tariff Management System

Croatian Customs Administration

Since Croatia joined the EU, we have been actively involved in all projects concerning the maintenance and enhancement of the ITMS (Integrated Tariff Management System) for the Customs Administration of Croatia. As part of this initiative, we developed several Java enterprise applications that collectively support customs tariff management and connect Croatia to EU customs systems. A strong customer focus and emphasis on business values and expertise were essential for the success of the project. Given our role as a link between Croatia and the EU customs system, it was vital that our software be reliable and highly available, as well as responsive during critical situations. Because we provided a comprehensive solution, effective project management was crucial for fostering efficient collaboration among all stakeholders.

EBTI Surveillance upgrade

Ingemark

Ingemark contracted the Gaurus software development team to assist with the upgrade of the EBTI (European Binding Tariff Information) and surveillance systems for Croatian Customs. Being funded by the EU, the project required adherence to a strict methodology that included comprehensive reporting on progress, budget expenditures, and activities aimed at promoting project visibility among relevant economic operators. Despite being an upgrade of the existing systems, the outcome was the delivery of two entirely new software modules that replaced the functionality of the previous ones, with data successfully migrated from the old systems to facilitate a seamless transition for users. This process involved analyzing the old systems and existing data, designing the new systems through an iterative approach, creating detailed functional and technical specifications, and developing the software using Java, JavaEE, IBM DB2, PostgreSQL, and JavaScript. Finally, the software was tested for compliance with EU systems using defined test cases and procedures, and it was successfully deployed into production on schedule and within budget.

mDigital - electronic goods distribution system

mStart

mDigital is a system designed for the distribution of electronic goods via EFT-POS terminals and web POS clients. It features a real-time transaction processing system and a backend web application for managing the distribution chain and warehouses. Initially developed by our team at our previous company, mDigital has since been upgraded and is currently maintained by Gaurus after our transition to an independent entity. This software operates within a complex network of distributors to manage the distribution of electronic goods in various ways. It is closely integrated with EFT-POS terminals, serving as a sales network while connecting to numerous external services that deliver electronic goods to customers in real-time. As one of the largest electronic goods distribution networks in the country, mDigital has successfully processed millions of transactions each month over the past seven years.
