Automating Building Digitization with Bimify
Challenge Buildings account for 40% of global energy usage and 36% of greenhouse gas emissions, yet over 90% lack digitalization. The absence of digital building data leads to inefficiencies and high costs in renovation, maintenance, and sustainability planning. In response to the rising demand for BIM digitization, Bimify aimed to create a scalable, automated solution for digitizing buildings globally. The main obstacles included transforming complex building data into usable BIM models, ensuring the process was quick and affordable, and allowing architects, engineers, and building owners to easily create, access, update, and share digital building models.
Solution Galeyo collaborated with Bimify to develop a tailored digital platform that streamlines the entire BIM digitization process. This solution features a scalable web application designed with React and Node.js, backed by a powerful PostgreSQL database capable of managing various input formats such as CAD files, point clouds, PDFs, and images. The platform supports multiple BIM output formats, including Revit, Archicad, and IFC, along with custom exports for facility management systems. Additional functionalities include tools for model access, sharing, and updates, real-time order tracking, an instant cost calculator, and an integrated ticketing system to improve communication. Galeyo also created automated CAD symbol detection services and tools for manual modifications and annotations. An AI-driven search assistant for navigating 3D building models is currently nearing completion.
