OUR STORY
Founded in 1996 by CSU Long Beach Industrial Design alumni Toren Orzeck and Mark Schoening, FUSE emerged from Toren's extensive design experience, including roles at GE Plastics and Nike. The firm specializes in both reactive projects—addressing client design challenges, often involving physical housings and human interfaces—and proactive work, where they identify and solve problems through innovative design. FUSE follows a rigorous methodology that supports eclectic and rapid adaptation to diverse product categories, valuing fresh perspectives. Their Phase 1 research encourages expansive ideation to explore creative solutions. Proactive efforts often stem from user experience critiques, aiming for compelling, memorable ideas. Operating small and nimble, FUSE staffs flexibly and embraces collaboration, inviting those with ideas or needs to engage their expertise.
