Majenta reached out to First Option Software to explore the redevelopment of their widely used business-to-business file transfer service, MX, utilizing the latest browser technologies. Originally created several years ago with Java applets, MX is aimed at Automotive OEMs that need to securely exchange CAD files with their suppliers and required an upgrade. The new MX is designed with key features: the entire client interface is crafted using pure HTML, leveraging the BootStrap and FlatUI frameworks. We implement the latest HTML5 File API for file streaming to and from the server, while also incorporating older methods to ensure compatibility with legacy browsers. On the server side, we utilize Java technologies, including Apache, WildFly, and Hibernate, for data processing and storage. All customer data is secured with 256-bit key encryption. The system architecture is designed for both horizontal and vertical scalability. With the opportunity to build the system from scratch, we collaborated with our in-house digital designers to enhance user experience, ensuring that all functionalities are intuitive and that users can easily access the necessary information.
