I serve as the president and general manager of Connectivity Center, where we specialize in selling computer components, AV wiring, cabling systems, and connectivity-related electronic equipment. **OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**: What problem were you attempting to resolve with EYStudios? Previously, we partnered with a German company to distribute their products in the Americas. Our website was developed by a local coder, drawing data from a European web export. Unfortunately, the platform did not offer the needed flexibility or search visibility we sought. **SOLUTION**: What was their involvement in your project? EYStudios was engaged in all facets of the development process. They designed wireframes and built the entire website from the ground up using the Magento platform. Their team introduced features like Mega Menus, which allow each category to showcase subcategories along with thumbnail images of items within that category. They also handled the integration of the European data feed and provided photography services after we were unhappy with some of our product images. **Team Composition**: I mainly liaised with one team member, but we interacted with various professionals across development, web analytics, and graphic design. **Collaboration with EYStudios**: We discovered Magento while searching for a new platform for our site. After interviewing several companies associated with Magento, we were impressed by EYStudios' extensive skill set. Unlike others who relied on outsourcing for design, they offered comprehensive web development services. Additionally, their location, just a four-hour drive away, was a significant benefit for us. **Investment**: We invested around $50,000 with them. **Current Status**: The primary development phase occurred from January to August 2016, and we continue to maintain a retainer agreement with them. **RESULTS & FEEDBACK**: What proof can you provide illustrating the impact of this collaboration? Users found the site easy to navigate, with Mega Menus receiving particularly favorable reviews. We have extended our contract with EYStudios to retain their services. **Project Management Performance**: During the initial stages, we often met in person due to our proximity, but by the end of the project, most of our communication had shifted to phone calls, emails, or screensharing. EYStudios would involve other team members in discussions on specific topics, yet I had a single point of contact for all my needs. **Impressions of EYStudios**: Other web development firms I’ve worked with did not prioritize cultivating a personal relationship with their clients. In contrast, EYStudios placed a strong emphasis on customer value and expressed gratitude for our partnership. They were easy to reach, and both the general manager and owner would check in with me regarding team performance, incorporating my feedback into their operations. Although there were occasions when they made mistakes in project execution, they did not charge us for that work, which I found commendable—showing honesty in their business dealings and a genuine concern for customer satisfaction. **Areas for Improvement**: EYStudios is a thriving business and has expanded its workforce accordingly. However, this growth has led to new team members who may not fully understand our long-standing relationship or the rationale behind certain decisions we made during the project.
