The City of Antioch, situated in Northern California, was established prior to the Gold Rush. In 2018, it sought to refresh its image by partnering with Evviva. One of the challenges they faced was the city's association with the decline in property values following the 2008 economic downturn. By 2016, Antioch had made significant progress, but this was overlooked by the media, which continued to focus on issues like crime, urban decay, homelessness, and affordable housing. Through research, we developed a new tagline for the city to highlight its strengths: "Opportunity Lives Here." The campaign was aimed at attracting businesses and enhancing the local lifestyle. With a comprehensive approach to planning, we rolled out the new brand across various digital and out-of-home platforms. The Ritz-Carlton

**Challenge** At first glance, the Ritz-Carlton may seem distinct from other Marriott brands. As a benchmark of luxury hospitality, it indeed is in many respects. However, a deeper look reveals a common thread: a genuine dedication to outstanding service. Yet, this shared commitment was becoming obscured by a variety of messages and inconsistent terminology. The Ritz-Carlton needed to clearly define both its shared and distinctive values in a way that would resonate with its global team of Ladies and Gentlemen. **Solution** Evviva devised and executed a series of research initiatives at various locations across North America, Europe, North Africa, and Asia. We gathered insights from a wide range of individuals, including top executives and housekeepers, from both internal and external viewpoints. We discovered that what distinguished the most exceptional staff members—referred to as Ladies and Gentlemen—was their meticulous attention to detail and the realization that outstanding service enhanced the experiences of both hosts and guests. Whether it was spotting a single hair on the carpet, a poorly folded washcloth, or a tissue box positioned incorrectly, the best Ladies and Gentlemen recognized that it was not merely the environment but their careful attention to it that allowed guests to truly unwind. They also understood that great service is both a gift and a conversation, acting as a bridge between the brand's aspirations and those of the guests. **Results** From this positioning, Evviva created a compelling emotional concept. We organized and creatively directed a photo shoot at a Ritz-Carlton property to enhance brand expression. Marriott International

Challenge: Marriott partnered with Evviva to create a distinct and impactful global message aimed at attracting talent in emerging markets to fill 50,000 positions—particularly in regions where the brand is not well-known, the entry barriers to the hospitality industry are significant, and social media engagement is widespread. Solution: We recognized that people often choose employers based on brand recognition; if a brand is esteemed, it’s generally perceived as a desirable workplace. However, the challenge was how potential candidates could envision working for a brand they were unfamiliar with. Results: Thanks to Evviva's efforts, Marriott was awarded Employer Brand of the Year (ERE) and saw a substantial increase in their Facebook followers, rising from under 14,000 to over 1,000,000, making them the most-followed employer brand online. Evviva's initiatives also garnered considerable media attention, including features in prestigious global publications like The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The Financial Times, The Economic Times, and the Times of London. Marriott was so impressed by the outcomes that they highlighted the work on the cover of their annual report.
