Amid the pandemic, she embraced painting, swiftly cultivating an abstract expressionist style. She earned a Master of Arts Practice from The Northern School of Art in Hartlepool, UK. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Joan Miro and Bridget Riley, Nichola's work features fluid layers and minimalist color schemes. Her art captures vivid emotional and sensory memories of experiences, which she describes as "engrams"—a synesthetic representation of events through color and texture, conveying the richness of recollected moments.
