Through our ongoing collaboration, we are tasked with the maintenance and development of the bank's website built on the e-point CMS. Working closely with Santander, our team at e-point has been maintaining and optimizing the site within the e-point Private Cloud environment, adapting to current trends while consistently addressing technological and business requirements. Main product pages load 250-300% faster The loading speed of the main product pages has improved by 250-300%, as measured by WebPageTest and PageSpeed Insights. Recently, the company decided to launch a direct-to-consumer approach by selling through its own online store. While this strategy proved profitable, it came with some technical challenges. What contributed to the success of this e-commerce initiative? Several factors played a role. Key 1: Communication Communication is crucial in any project. All participants need visibility into the progress of the work. Given that this project involved multiple geographically dispersed teams, we had to strategize on how to maintain connectivity. We opted for Google Hangouts and Jira's project tracking tools instead of relying on email for communication. Regular video conferences with Leifheit significantly improved our information sharing and allowed both parties to address any questions or uncertainties. Having a Project Coordinator from Leifheit Polska also greatly aided our efforts. Key 2: Cleanup Our initial tasks included a comprehensive review of the existing code and reducing Leifheit's technological debt. Within two months, we rectified code errors and ensured the platform functioned properly. Further customization is possible through various extensions, including those offered by e-point. Another advantage is that Leifheit also utilized SAP ERP and SAP Marketing; thus, an e-commerce solution within the same ecosystem was a logical choice. SAP has a strong reputation for reliability and service, providing technical support and built on well-established technologies like Java and Apache SOLR. E-Commerce Success Requires UX Optimization While the project involved significant technical work—cleaning code and implementing optimization techniques—true success depended on enhancing the customer experience. Our design and UX teams put in outstanding effort to develop a solution that improved both conversion rates and sales figures. Overall, the outcomes speak for themselves, with a 255% increase in sales within just three months. At this stage of the project, we focused on quick wins—accelerated optimization efforts that yielded significant results in a short timeframe by identifying and addressing issues in the purchasing process.

A New Portal for PZU Clients

PZU

With 22 million clients, PZU Group stands as the largest insurer in Central and Eastern Europe. It provides an extensive range of offerings in the Polish market, including life insurance, property and health coverage, investment and savings accounts, pension schemes, private health insurance, and various support services. Their updated strategy prioritizes online customer service, aiming to achieve a 50% market share in the direct market by 2020. To support these objectives, e-point developed a new self-service portal designed to better cater to customers' needs. Understanding PZU clients was crucial; thus, we formed an interdisciplinary team consisting of PZU and e-point members. PZU's team included representatives from the e-marketing department, product managers, and R&D personnel. To ensure the portal's effectiveness, we needed to establish a new product classification system that would allow PZU customers to easily locate products suited to their individual requirements. The product pages on PZU’s site underwent a significant redesign. Following the principles of plain language, the PZU team aimed to make the website content more accessible by eliminating lengthy sentences and complex jargon. The e-point team introduced a cleaner design and new graphic elements to improve communication. Promoting self-service was also a key objective of the new portal, with each product featuring a clear description of the various purchasing options available. However, insurance and finance extend beyond mere sales; providing extended service is essential for customer satisfaction, particularly during the claims process. The new PZU portal was built upon Active Content, e-point's proprietary content management system.
