**BACKGROUND:** Please describe your company and your role there. I serve as the Group Senior Manager at Virgin Mobile MEA, which is based in Dubai, UAE. We’re a mobile service provider in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) with numerous active operations and millions of customers. **OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE:** What projects or services prompted your company to hire Divectors? Our services are rapidly expanding, leading to an inadequate number of requests for changes and proper requirements. We certainly require assistance in implementing data governance across our operational companies since we lack the bandwidth and resources to handle it internally, prompting us to outsource this effort to Divectors. What were your objectives for this project? Our primary goal was to comprehend the current processes, workflows, and change requests, while also creating a data governance roadmap that enhances efficiency and user-friendliness. **SOLUTION:** How did you choose Divectors? We evaluated numerous companies and interviewed several candidates for the outsourcing task. We were quite pleased with the technical expertise and skill sets the Divectors team brought to the table. Their management is very professional, they grasped our requirements, and they considered our budget constraints, offering us a reasonable service fee. Can you elaborate on the project? We conducted a series of meetings to outline the objectives and schedules. Interviews were held with various stakeholders to grasp the existing processes and workflows. We defined the Data Governance roadmap and established a DG Council to appoint DG Champions in each department. Additionally, we developed a process flow to enhance change request management. What was the composition of the team? The team included a data architect and a data integration engineer. We held daily stand-up meetings and weekly catch-up sessions to discuss the project scope and status. A weekly call was also arranged with the project manager to review team performance and timelines. **RESULTS & FEEDBACK:** Can you share any outcomes from the project that highlight its success? The project was delivered within the expected timeframe. Despite some internal challenges related to invoicing and legal matters, the Divectors team was exceptionally patient and helped us achieve our goals. How effective was the collaboration between your team and theirs? Communication was very straightforward, and their team was always accessible. We utilized Slack for coordination and Jira to monitor project objectives. The project manager was efficient and proactive in facilitating coordination and addressing our needs. What impressed you the most about this company? It’s consistently their knowledge and expertise that is vital for data governance implementation. Their team has extensive experience in Data Governance across various sectors, is technically adept at understanding data architecture, databases, and related tools, and excels at collaborating within an Agile environment. Are there any areas for improvement? There is always room for enhancement. I would recommend focusing on improving leadership qualities to enable better control and responsibility in driving projects effectively with minimal oversight.
