ITHQ - Awareness Campaign
The ITHQ is an esteemed institution that uniquely offers secondary, college, university, and continuing education within Canada. With over 50 years of experience, it specializes in professional training in tourism, hotel management, and restaurant management.
**The Challenge**
The ITHQ faces multiple challenges, primarily in promoting its industry to youth who perceive it as a luxurious field with limited career prospects. This issue is particularly prevalent in the management programs (hotel management, catering management, and tourism management). Additionally, despite its strong international reputation, attracting individuals aged 16 to 22 has proven difficult, especially through traditional advertising, as younger generations, such as millennials, are increasingly skeptical of advertising content and adept at ignoring it. Thus, the question arises: how can we effectively engage millennials and shift the negative perception surrounding the school’s management programs?
**Solutions**
To dispel these misconceptions and connect with their audience, the ITHQ, a para-governmental organization, needed to diversify their conventional messaging by incorporating a more playful and authentic approach. Consequently, they launched an interactive campaign featuring the school’s graduates, utilizing emerging platforms like TikTok and Snapchat. This campaign included a quiz addressing common myths about the ITHQ and its management programs. Additionally, engaging videos were produced to capture audience interest, as this format is generally more appealing to millennials than the often-overlooked banner ads.
**Results**
The campaign yielded notable results, including:
- The creation and management of Quebec's first commercial campaign on TikTok, a platform popular among younger audiences with high engagement rates.
- A quiz completion rate of 36%.
- Reaching 500,000 users across social media platforms (Facebook, Snapchat, TikTok).
- Achieving a 1.04% video view-through rate on TikTok.
