In 2014, Develux was hired by a U.S. company looking to innovate in the freelance market with a new platform. The client needed a tailored CRM capable of managing various complex workflows, with a strong focus on user-friendliness. Challenge To tackle this requirement, the project was broken down into multiple phases: - Customer and Freelancer Modules within the CRM - Administrator’s Module in the CRM - Dashboards and Metrics Calculation Model - Internal Chat System - Billing System - Notifications integrated with various features This case study will focus on the development of the CRM's initial two components: the customer and freelancer modules. Solution To address the client's needs, our team created an easy-to-use auction-style platform. Functionality for Customers: - Customers can create tasks with specific criteria. - These tasks are posted in a marketplace. - Freelancers view the tasks and place bids. - Customers choose the most appropriate freelancer. - Once the freelancer completes the task, they upload their work to the platform. - When the customer is satisfied, payment is made to the freelancer. Functionality for Freelancers: - Applicants showcase their skills to register as freelancers. - Freelancers browse orders aligned with their expertise. - They place bids on completing specific orders. - If a customer's bid is selected, the freelancer gets the project. - The freelancer submits their final product. - Upon the customer's approval, payment is processed to the freelancer. Building Electron Cross-Platform App for Brand Protection

A company based in Switzerland has developed an innovative strategy to safeguard businesses against counterfeit products. However, their existing solution was missing several essential features that would enhance their system and facilitate large-scale implementation. With effective communication and precise solution specifications, Michael Spasenko, a Python software engineer, assisted them in achieving their objectives. Michael aimed to create a software solution that would streamline the large-scale rollout of QR codes, develop an API for SMS notifications, and integrate these features with the current system. To tackle the project most effectively, a cross-platform application was built using the Electron framework, chosen for its compatibility, durability, and seamless integration with the existing interface. The backend was developed with Node.js for its scalability. As a result of the new system, the client was prepared for easier large-scale deployment. However, QR code placement was just the beginning; the Swiss company also needed the capability to monitor products and send smart alerts for status changes or irregularities. Michael and his team successfully implemented an API that integrated smoothly with SMS services, enabling efficient tracking of crucial product information throughout the supply chain. Throughout the project, various technologies were utilized to address challenges: DRF, Docker, Angular, Electron, and TypeScript. By the end of the project, a solution had been created that positioned itself as “a platform for connected goods that assists companies reliant on selling physical products in a connected economy.” We transformed a standard QR code into a valuable tool for protection, tracking, customer engagement, and a useful data resource for every product in the brand's portfolio.
