BottleDrop

The Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative (OBRC) recycles more than 1.1 billion containers annually and is dedicated to minimizing litter and making recycling a straightforward and enjoyable experience. This initiative not only benefits the environment but also saves money for the average citizen—especially since the recycling value increased from 5¢ to 10¢ in April 2017, making it more attractive than ever. Although the program is already successful, OBRC sought to simplify recycling further to encourage greater participation. Noticing that many of their BottleDrop users accessed the site via mobile devices, OBRC collaborated with DevelopmentNow to develop an app that modernizes the recycling process. In its first month, the app attracted nearly 10,000 users on both iOS and Android platforms. Recently, BottleDrop saw almost 30,000 new sign-ups for their Green Bag recycling program. Furthermore, they are planning to establish five new Return Centers and ten additional BottleDrop Express locations. Over two million containers were redeemed through BottleDrop, and OBRC managed an impressive total of containers that weighed as much as 234 gray whales!

A Dual ECommerce and Support Experience American telecommunications leader Time Warner Cable approached the DevelopmentNow team with a complex dual objective: to create a mobile experience that mirrors the functionality of their desktop site and to build a Customer Support portal aimed at enhancing user satisfaction while minimizing operational costs. Historically, Time Warner had conducted most of its sales and services through its desktop site and in-person interactions. Acknowledging the preference of many users for a mobile interface, they tasked DevelopmentNow with developing a mobile platform designed to boost sales across Small Business, Medium and Enterprise, and Industry Solutions, while also improving customer satisfaction and overall experience. With millions of customers to serve, Time Warner required a straightforward way for mobile users to troubleshoot issues and engage with Customer Support. Expanding User Base and Customer Satisfaction Time Warner Cable successfully generated millions in additional revenue from mobile users. The implementation of a mobile-friendly chat platform, coupled with a detailed content and cross-selling strategy, resulted in significant sales increases and saved the company six figures in customer support expenses. In 2015, Time Warner reported its strongest subscriber growth since 2009, with over 20,000 unique customers accessing the mobile experience each month.

Inspiring Visitors and Telling the Story Girl Rising is a worldwide initiative aimed at changing perceptions about girls everywhere. By educating girls, we can disrupt cycles of poverty within a single generation, yet millions remain out of school. Girl Rising harnesses the power of storytelling to motivate action and increase girls' access to education globally. The creators of Girl Rising envisioned a companion website for the film that would prompt users to take several actions: learn more about the initiative, book screening tickets, and connect with a supportive community. DevelopmentNow developed a striking responsive website for the Girl Rising film, designed to handle anticipated traffic while inspiring users to support the movement through compelling storytelling. Enhancing the Girl Rising Brand's Success The DevelopmentNow-created site attracted over 300,000 visitors from around the world, including users from the UK, Netherlands, Australia, and India. It successfully managed traffic surges across various platforms and devices, enabling the Girl Rising brand to effectively connect with a broad audience. Thanks to the website developed by DevelopmentNow, the launch of Girl Rising was a resounding success. The film received nominations for an Emmy Award and an Image Award, and it secured second place at the Winnipeg Real to Reel Film Festival.
