Type 2 Safety Helmet

Defender Safety

DMC and Defender Safety embarked on their first project in 2021, marking the beginning of a lasting design partnership that has led to multiple initiatives for Defender Safety. DMC took on the responsibility of researching, designing, and creating a Type 2 Safety Helmet that complies with ANSI standards. The tasks included: 1. Investigating ANSI testing and designing accordingly; 2. Creating digital and hand sketches that align with the Defender Safety brand; 3. Prototyping for fit, style, and safety; 4. Designing for manufacturability and collaborating with production engineers; 5. Developing renders and animations for marketing purposes. The H2 Safety Helmet has been on the market for a year (as of this writing) and has sold several containers of product to date. Customers have expressed satisfaction with its usability, and the helmet has surpassed safety standards in testing.

Aluminium Canopy Designs

Full Forced Fabrication

Primarily a 3D modeling and drafting position, Dylan collaborated with FFF to create and manufacture 11 unique, custom canopies. Key priorities included: 1. Sheet metal design and engineering, which was our top focus, 2. The importance of understanding assembly was vital, 3. Ensuring good usability was essential, and 4. All components needed to be robust enough to endure tough 4x4 conditions. Eventually, FFF decided to bring their design work in-house as it proved to be more practical.

F1 Car Inspired Watch Stand

Maverick Watch Stands

The objective was straightforward: "Create a watch stand inspired by F1." While it may seem easy at first glance, it presented a significant design-for-manufacture challenge. By streamlining certain geometries and employing simple aesthetics, we successfully developed a product that not only looks impressive but can also be produced efficiently. Key points include: 1. The product is crafted for injection molding 2. The car's pricing ensures a healthy profit margin for the business 3. Certain components can be easily customized for future brand partnerships 4. We refined the design through more than six prototypes to perfect manufacturing and assembly. The F1 Maverick Watch stand has completed its initial mass production run and is now available for purchase!
