Lockdown Pass for Essential Services

Rajasthan Government

Background To prevent the spread of COVID-19 and address the global pandemic situation, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, announced a nationwide lockdown/curfew. In alignment with MHA's guidelines, the Government of Rajasthan implemented its own lockdown measures and issued specific directives to facilitate the movement of people and vehicles within the state. During this lockdown, citizens were encouraged to remain at home and practice social distancing. However, those responsible for providing essential services needed to travel to various locations within the state. If travel was necessary, individuals were required to complete and submit an application through the ePass system, which would be validated by the Police Department or the relevant authority issuing the pass, allowing them to travel to Rajasthan from other states or within Rajasthan itself. Designed to Scale: The application was developed to be adaptable and responsive to a variety of dynamic scenarios where requirements were not predetermined before the development phase. Initially, it focused on urgent needs, and over time, additional features and complexities were incorporated for individual passes, followed by specific needs from companies and government departments for their employees, as well as support for migrant workers through integration with relevant Government of Rajasthan applications.
