ABOUT DAISYBILL

Workers’ Comp Billing Made Easy

Workers' Compensation Needs Reform The current system for treating injured workers is often financially unfeasible for healthcare providers. Securing timely and accurate reimbursements demands significant time and resources. Consequently, many providers are leaving the system, leading to fewer options for patients seeking care. This situation is avoidable. Investing in the recovery of injured workers can be beneficial, and the right technology can facilitate this process—so we developed it. Our Background Founded in 2011, daisyBill emerged from the combined decades of expertise in medical billing and workers’ compensation of cofounders Catherine Montgomery and Sarah Moray. They understood the challenges providers faced in receiving prompt and accurate payments. The introduction of a new California law permitting electronic billing presented an opportunity for them to transform the reimbursement process through technology, leading to the establishment of daisyBill. The Challenges of Workers' Compensation The current workers’ compensation billing system is disheartening for providers, restricts patient access to care, undermines legislative intentions, and opens the door for exploitation. More complicated than Medicare or group health billing, workers’ comp requires excessive administrative resources to navigate effectively. Confusing regulations, logistical obstacles, and extensive compliance requirements create significant challenges in obtaining revenue for treatment. Additionally, some claims administrators exploit these weaknesses to undermine state fee structures and deplete provider earnings. As a result, many providers view workers’ compensation as unprofitable. The Solution DaisyBill is working to develop a more effective workers’ compensation system through technology and specialized knowledge. We believe that the processes of authorization, billing, payment, and appeals should support treatment, rather than dominate the focus.

OUR STORY
Founded in 2011 by Catherine Montgomery and Sarah Moray, daisyBill was created to address the financial and operational challenges providers face in treating injured workers. Recognizing how complex workers' compensation billing often leads to delayed or incorrect payments, they leveraged a new California law permitting electronic billing to develop technology that simplifies the reimbursement process. With the expertise of CTO Ben Liscio, daisyBill offers software solutions that automate authorizations, ensure accurate reimbursements, streamline appeals, and promote accountability among claims administrators. Operating fully remotely across multiple states, the company now serves thousands of clients and processes millions of electronic bills annually, striving to make workers' comp systems more efficient and accessible for providers and patients alike.
