Founded in 2014 by four professionals with expertise in Governance, Operations, and IT, ControlNet was developed to address the inefficiencies in manual risk and control management. Recognizing that traditional methods relying on spreadsheets and paper lacked visibility, accountability, and evidence, the founders created an integrated digital system to streamline these processes. The platform, initially tested with a South African bank, has since expanded globally, serving leading organizations including Canada’s largest bank, with deployments across UK, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the US. Originally designed to manage Level 1 business-owned controls, ControlNet evolved to encompass all three lines of defense by adding a comprehensive risk module. Their mission is to foster accountable, sustainable, and resilient organizations for the future.
